My Story
My name is Ryan Schaefer. I’m a husband, a father of three, and a lifelong believer in family, hard work, and service to others. I’ve been married for over 15 years, and together my wife and I are raising our children with the same values that were instilled in me growing up—faith, responsibility, and giving back to the community that gives so much to us.
I also own and operate a fourth-generation family business that has been serving our community for over 100 years. Being part of a legacy like that has taught me the importance of commitment, integrity, and standing behind people—not just in good times, but especially when times are hard.
Reel Hero Charters was created from the heart. It was born from a deep respect for our veterans, first responders, and active-duty heroes who put their lives on the line every day for people they may never meet. Too often, these men and women carry invisible burdens long after the uniform comes off. My goal with this charity is simple but powerful: to give them peace of mind, a sense of brotherhood, and a place to breathe again.
Through fishing charters and time spent on the water, we create an environment where stress fades, conversations happen naturally, and healing can begin. There’s something about being on the water—away from noise, pressure, and expectations—that allows people to reset. Sometimes it’s not about talking at all. It’s about quiet moments, shared laughs, and knowing you’re not alone.
Fishing, hunting, boating, and spending time with my kids are more than hobbies to me—they are ways I reconnect with what matters most. I want to share that same peace and connection with those who have sacrificed so much for our country and our communities.
This mission isn’t about recognition or profit. It’s about service. It’s about saving lives, restoring hope, and reminding our heroes that they are valued, appreciated, and never forgotten.
